3rd Week!

The best friends arriving for school at Lori's house!
This week we are learning about the letter "C", the number "3" and the shape of a circle. They decided to first take on the shape of a circle.
For snack time they got cucumbers, carrots, cottage cheese and 3 chocolate chip cookies!

Everyone loved learning about utters and practicing "milking a cow!" Alli figured out how to squeeze it out first (it's a little tricky) she got pretty good and squirted everyone for a fun time!
Sheet-work time . . . practice makes perfect!

Our theme this week is the cow so we had fun learning more about them. Holy cow those are cute kids!!
Memorization for the week. . . (Hold up your hand and place one finger down each time, starting with the pinky)
"This little cow ate grass,
This little cow ate hay,
This little cow drank water,
This little cow ran away,
This little cow did nothing, she just laid down all day!"

Week 2!

The second week of preschool was a busy one!!! We learned all about the letter B. We learned about boats, birds, bugs, butter, blue, bears and bananas! We read "The Day the Boa Ate the Wash" and "All a Float On Noah's Boat" and learned some silly verses to Row Row Row Your Boat!

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream.
If you meet a crocodile, don't forget to scream!

Row, row, row your boat gently to the shore.
If you meet a grizzly bear, don't forget to roar!

Row Row Row your boat, rock it to and fro.
Splish, splash, splish, splash into the water we go!

We crawled like bears...

We flew like birds...

We rowed our boat in search of things that started with the letter B...

We talked about the different types of boats and how the float. We played the game "Sink or Float" where the kids had to guess if things like balls, buttons, rocks, ect would float or sink when we threw them in the bath tub...

B is for boats floating on blue jello! The kids loved making jello and putting fish in it and boats on top...

We made boats and decorated them with bug, boat, butterfly, ball and berry stickers. We had boat races out side that got a little competitive between Austin and Alli...

We made BUTTER! The kids had a blast shaking their own butter and dancing...

We ate our butter on blueberry muffins...

and drank blue gatorade...

We learned about the number 2! We searched the house for the missing 2's and played the shoe mix up game. I think their favorite part was that they got to hide my shoes and it took me a long time to find them!

We danced in two's and sang a song about 2 ducks...

First Week of Preschool!

Letter: A

We had an Awesome week with the letter A. We practiced writing it and talked about airplanes, anteaters, apples, apes, astronauts and alligators. We danced to the crocodile rock song, pretending to crawl like alligators and fly like airplane. We read Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, a book about Noah's ark, and the poems: The Cow in Apple Time and After Apple-Picking by Robert Frost. They loved the part about the cow as "she drools a cider syrup." And we had an apple tasting of Gala, Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, and Pink Lady apples, with animal crackers, of course! Yum!!

Number: 1

The number one was fun. We sang "One little monkey swinging in the tree, teasing Mr. Alligator - Can't catch me!" We honored Braeden for one minute for being one years old. We drew the number one and pretended to be a one!

Shape: Square

We found square objects like our school kitchen table, a cd case, a book, and window panes. They glued little red squares onto a plate to form an apple. There were a lot of squares and a lot of glue. But this picture was my favorite square by far!

Dance Party - & have they got moves!

A Little Red Apple

A little red apple
Hung high in a tree.
I looked up at it,
And it looked down at me.
"Come down, please," I called.
And what do you suppose?
That little red apple
Dropped right on my nose!

A is for Ape Apple.

The kids loved making the caramel chocolate dipped apples' eyes, nose nostrils, mouth and ears. There were some pretty funny facess!

Yum! Yum!! Yum!!!

First Day of School

Here are our four stars of preschool: Austin, Alli, Jordan, and Kambri. Aren't they so cute?! All of the kids were so excited for the first day of school.
