K is for KINGS & KNIGHTS!

We had a great week learning about the letter "K"! I wasn't very good at taking pictures, but these are the few that I did get. We started off one of our days with shape matching to get everyone ready to learn!!:)

Practice makes perfect! K is for king, kangaroo, kid, kick, kiwi, kettle, keys, kite, knight, knuckle, knock, and knot.
Hard at work!
Our "K" snacks for the week were kettle chips, kiwi's, fruit KEBABS, and keebler cookies. We also had kettle corn and Krispy Kreme donuts...and don't forget the Kiwi colored Kool-Aid!

We made King's crowns, and Knight's swords. We also made a Christmas countdown because it was the first day of December!
We found "K"s in magazines, and made K's out of craft sticks. We memorized "Old King Cole" and sang "I wish I were a crazy kind of kite!"
We also played kickball and did karate dancing. We read the books, "King Bigood's in the Bathtub"(they loved this one) and Kitten's First Full Moon, "Boogie Knights" and Knuffle Bunny! And we can't forget that we worked on the number 11 too!
I promise to be better with the camera next time!:)

"F" is for FLOWERS!

Having fun singing their flower song, notice Austin's enthusiasm holding the red penny in the background!
Still their favorite time tends to be snack time. They got Fruit roll-ups, pretzel Fishes, Fresh Fruit and dried Fruit, and also Fruit Juice. (I was a little uncreative coming up with other things to eat besides fruit!)

They made pretty Fall Flowers!
So studious!!
Then they potted their own flowers for their mom's!
Can you tell they are screaming, "FLOWER POWER!"

Dinosaur Museum Field Trip!

A special guest appearance from Macee Lynn!

Everyone had fun being filmed in the Wild West Movie!
Gold Panning!!
Some serious lookers!

Don't forget the Doughnuts for the "D" Dinosaur Week!

E Week!

Well, E week was very EXCITING!!!! We learned all about Eyes, Ears and Elephants. We learned the poem "The Circus Elephant
A circus elephant I went to see (Hold hand over eyes like binoculars)
He had four legs and was bigger than me. (Hold up four fingers and then point to self)
He had two ears big and round (Show two fingers and make a circle with hands)
And one long nose that made a sound errrrr (Make elephant trunk with arm)
We read Green Eggs and Ham and 5 Little Monkeys With Nothing to Do. We also learned about the numbrer 5 and ellipses. We started the week by making our "E seeing" eyeglasses. Here is everyone modeling their E glasses except Austin...his hurt his ears.
We talked about the different parts of our eyes and decided what color eyes everyone has.
We played pin the eyes and ears on Eddie. They did pretty good but at first had a hard time grasping the concept of the game that is was okay for it not to be perfect. Here is our Eddie...
Jordan was very close on the eyes...
We had egg races, which was hilarious because they were all so worried about their egg breaking so they would go so slow. I kept telling them that I would give them a new egg if it broke but they insisted on doing it SOOOO SLOW!
Austin getting the hang of it...
We made Elephant footprint cookies...
and apple filled empanadas...e foods are hard to come by!
We counted out 5 pieces of candy in each egg and had an egg hunt...
We painted egg carton spiders for Halloween...
We did exercises...situps, pushups, jumping and running.
We played "Elephants on a Tightrope".
And made our own band so we could listen to the "beautiful" music with our ears... Here is Kambri on the drum, Alli on the maracas, Austin on the cymbals and Jordan singing!
We played "E" BINGO...
We talked about how big baby elephants are and weighed everybody to see if all of them together were as big as a baby elephant. Everybody together weighed 127 pounds...a baby elephant weighs 200 hundred pounds!
We sang "5 Little Speckled Frogs" here they are after they all jumped into the "pond"...
Here are the 4 elephants...
And last but not least, we used out Ears and played the telephone game, which was a crack up. The first person would start and whisper something in the next persons ear and then they would whisper it to the next person. When it got to the last person it was usually nothing like what the first person said!
Thanks for a fun week kiddos!
