Well, E week was very EXCITING!!!! We learned all about Eyes, Ears and Elephants. We learned the poem "The Circus Elephant
A circus elephant I went to see (Hold hand over eyes like binoculars)
He had four legs and was bigger than me. (Hold up four fingers and then point to self)
He had two ears big and round (Show two fingers and make a circle with hands)
And one long nose that made a sound errrrr (Make elephant trunk with arm)
He had four legs and was bigger than me. (Hold up four fingers and then point to self)
He had two ears big and round (Show two fingers and make a circle with hands)
And one long nose that made a sound errrrr (Make elephant trunk with arm)
We read Green Eggs and Ham and 5 Little Monkeys With Nothing to Do. We also learned about the numbrer 5 and ellipses. We started the week by making our "E seeing" eyeglasses. Here is everyone modeling their E glasses except Austin...his hurt his ears.
We talked about the different parts of our eyes and decided what color eyes everyone has.
We played pin the eyes and ears on Eddie. They did pretty good but at first had a hard time grasping the concept of the game that is was okay for it not to be perfect. Here is our Eddie...
Jordan was very close on the eyes...
We had egg races, which was hilarious because they were all so worried about their egg breaking so they would go so slow. I kept telling them that I would give them a new egg if it broke but they insisted on doing it SOOOO SLOW!
Austin getting the hang of it...
We made Elephant footprint cookies...
and apple filled empanadas...e foods are hard to come by!
We counted out 5 pieces of candy in each egg and had an egg hunt...
We painted egg carton spiders for Halloween...
We did exercises...situps, pushups, jumping and running.
We played "Elephants on a Tightrope".
And made our own band so we could listen to the "beautiful" music with our ears... Here is Kambri on the drum, Alli on the maracas, Austin on the cymbals and Jordan singing!
We played "E" BINGO...
We talked about how big baby elephants are and weighed everybody to see if all of them together were as big as a baby elephant. Everybody together weighed 127 pounds...a baby elephant weighs 200 hundred pounds!
We sang "5 Little Speckled Frogs" here they are after they all jumped into the "pond"...
Here are the 4 elephants...
And last but not least, we used out Ears and played the telephone game, which was a crack up. The first person would start and whisper something in the next persons ear and then they would whisper it to the next person. When it got to the last person it was usually nothing like what the first person said!
Thanks for a fun week kiddos!
